AUSTIN, TX, Jan. 6, 2013. – With cold temperatures and high electric use, the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) announced an Energy Emergency Alert. As of 10:02 a.m. on Jan. 6, this emergency alert has been cancelled, but ERCOT still requests that customers reduce conserve energy to prevent widespread power outages.
