BTU's Green Plus Solar Registered Contractor Requirements
To be a registered contractor for BTU’s Solar PV Rebate Program, one or more employees of the installation company must either:
1. Have current proof of 40 hours of PV training. They must also have installed two (2) PV systems; one can be in a training environment and the other must be a minimum of 1 kWdc grid tied.

The PV installer must have taken a lead roll in the installation of the 1 kW dc PV system. A lead roll is defined as a foreman, supervisor, or site manager responsible for the quality of the installation, or experienced person performing the trade without supervision. There may be several workers that do not carry responsible charge on the jobsite who are aspiring to this role.
This one 1 kWdc solar PV installation must be a system with an inverter and subject to a complete electrical permitting and inspection process by a permitting authority.

2. Have a certificate verifying the PV Installer has passed the NABCEP test.
All registered solar contractors must obtain NABCEP certification within two years of getting on the BTU registered solar PV contractor list. Also all registered solar contractors must include a certificate of insurance with the following coverage:
3. $300,000 Combined Single Limit; Bodily Injury and Property Damage / $300,000 General Aggregate and BTU must be listed as the Certificate Holder.
