Preliminary Site Assessment Customer Discussion Points
Items to consider:
BTU Solar Rebate Program eligibility requirements:
- No deed restrictions preventing PV installation
- Array azimuth and tilt must be within acceptable limits
- Shading within acceptable limits (no more than 20% annually)
- Adequate electric service to accommodate PV installation
- The current max rebate amount for PV is 3000 Watts @ $4.00 per AC watts installed rebate will not cover more than 80% of the installation costs.
PV system physical requirements:
- Array slope and orientation
- Shading
- PV array sizing
- Location of inverters/switchgear/meter
- Electrical tie-in
Costs and benefits:
- PV systems costs can vary widely depending on installation requirements; typical range is $6,000 to $8,000/kilowatt installed
- Energy production 1,000-1,440 kWh per kW annually
