Items to consider:

BTU Solar Rebate Program eligibility requirements:

  • No deed restrictions preventing PV installation
  • Array azimuth and tilt must be within acceptable limits
  • Shading within acceptable limits (no more than 20% annually)
  • Adequate electric service to accommodate PV installation
  • The current max rebate amount for PV is 3000 Watts @ $4.00 per AC watts installed rebate will not cover more than 80% of the installation costs.

  • Array slope and orientation
  • Shading
  • PV array sizing
  • Location of inverters/switchgear/meter
  • Electrical tie-in

Costs and benefits:

  • PV systems costs can vary widely depending on installation requirements; typical range is $6,000 to $8,000/kilowatt installed
