BTU Launches Text Notification System
Bryan Texas Utilities has launched a text messaging notification system. The service will notify customers regarding any planned or unplanned outages and important service or energy emergency alerts. The service also allows customers to utilize key words to report outages or request status updates.
BTU, TPWD Work to Improve Fisheries at Lake Bryan
Bryan Texas Utilities, in partnership with Texas Parks and Wildlife Inland Fisheries Division, is pleased to announce the completion of two significant stocking initiatives aimed at improving fisheries and enhancing angler experiences at Lake Bryan.
Bryan, Texas – Bryan Texas Utilities (BTU) has contracted with Smith Mountain Investments to perform steel reinforcement of specified electric distribution poles, as identified from the previous pole inspection project.
This pole-restoration program is designed to restore poles weakened by decay or other damage so they exceed National Electrical Safety Code strength requirements. This work is performed at a fraction of the cost of a pole replacement. BTU has been conducting pole inspections to identify poles that may need preventative maintenance or replacement as part of BTU’s overall preventative maintenance program.
This project shall commence on November 30, 2015, and shall be completed by March 31, 2016. Area residents may notice Smith Mountain Investments trucks and personnel in the area throughout the project period.
