Bryan, Texas – Bryan Texas Utilities (BTU) has contracted with Utilimap Corporation to perform steel reinforcement of specified electric distribution poles, as identified from the previous pole inspection project.
This pole-restoration program is designed to restore poles weakened by decay or other damage so they exceed National Electrical Safety Code strength requirements. This work is performed at a fraction of the cost of a pole replacement. BTU has been conducting pole inspections to identify poles that may need preventative maintenance or replacement as part of BTU’s overall preventative maintenance program.
This project shall commence on January 12, 2015, and shall be completed by July 31, 2015. Area residents may notice Utilimap trucks and personnel in the area throughout the project period.
