Third Award Honoring BTU – Website Takes Honors Nationally

Bryan, Texas – The recently redesigned Bryan Texas Utilities Website has been named the winner of the Silver Circle Savvy Award — second place nationally — by the City-County Communications and Marketing Association (3CMA). The BTU Website placed in the category of Digital/Interactive-Best Overall Website – population 0 – 85,000.

The judges comments about the website were that it is “very interactive and accessible. Incredible that this project was tackled in two months and in-house! Wow!”

“It is definitely an honor to be recognized by 3CMA for the new website,” said Gary Miller, General Manager of BTU. “We strive for our company to be as efficient, reliable and customer friendly as possible. We intend for our website to serve as a full extension of our BTU customer service experience. ”

The Savvy Awards competition recognizes outstanding local government achievements in communications, public-sector marketing and citizen-government relationships. The Savvies salute skilled and effective city, county, agency or district professionals who have creatively planned and carried out successful innovations in communications and marketing.

The City of Hot Springs, Arkansas won first place in the same category and Casa Grande, Arizona placed third.

3CMA, the City-County Communications and Marketing Association, is the leading organization for local governments that are innovating new and better ways of communicating with their citizens by viewing them as customers with important input into the kinds of services offered and how they are provided.

BTU is the municipally owned electric utility serving over 50,000 customers in Bryan, Texas and surrounding areas. BTU has been recognized for its reliability and its customer service initiatives. This year BTU has been honored with the “Reliable Public Power Provider – RP3 – Diamond Award” from the American Public Power Association and the “System Achievement Award” from the Texas Public Power Association.
