Rolling outages temporarily suspended

Because of favorable grid conditions overnight, the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) notified BTU that we can temporarily suspend rolling outages.  We remain under Energy Emergency Alert 3 from ERCOT, the same level since Monday, and BTU customers should expect additional outages until temperatures moderate and more power plants in ERCOT become operational. BTU generation remains fully operational and our field personnel are fully staffed.

If any customers are without power while the outages are suspended, it is likely a weather-related outage and you are asked to call 979-822-3777.  BTU crews are ready to respond 24 hours a day.

BTU strongly encourages everyone to use as little energy as possible during this time in order to reduce demand on the power grid.  Energy conservation measures can help limit the duration of the rolling outages.

Customers are encouraged to continue to monitor television and radio, and BTU’s website for more information. Updates will also be posted on www.btutilities.com, Facebook (@BryanTexasUtilities), and Twitter (@BTU_BryanTX).
